Produced and conducted a training course

   for maintenance and aftersales staff

  • Increased number of resolved tickets on a first visit
  • Developed an internal standard for troubleshooting
  • Boosted confidentiality of maintenance staff and elevated its professionalism in customer's eyes

Equipment used for the job:

 

  • Siemens Simatic manager, TIA portal
  • Simatic PLC series S7-300 and S7-400
  • Siemens drives G series
  • Simatic WinCC flex

Customer experienced poor performance of maintenance staff resulted in multiple site visits to resolve the issue and get production back up and running. Poor performance was often reported back and the management staff had to deal with it.

 

Using extensive engineering knowledge of PLC, HMI, SCADA and Variable Speed Drives and hands on experience from the control and automation sector I have produced and conducted a bespoke training course for the Support Team.

 

The main purpose of the course was to highlight the most common approach in troubleshooting third party's machinery and processes to quickly solve the issue.

 

The course was greatly appreciated among staff and we continued a discussion about their recent examples long after the official part concluded.
